The Aegean gem of Kuşadası experienced a surge in tourism as it welcomed thousands of visitors arriving on four massive cruise ships. Tourists enjoyed both historical exploration and local shopping during their stay.

One of Turkey’s most popular cruise destinations, Kuşadası—located in Aydın Province—saw a remarkable influx of visitors. A total of 7,427 tourists, most of them American citizens, arrived at the Ege Port on the same day aboard four cruise ships.

The ships included the Bahamian-flagged Gemini, the Maltese-flagged Celebrity Infinity and Azamara Quest, and the Bermudian-flagged Azura. All four vessels docked one after another in the early morning hours.

While some tourists stayed in town to shop for souvenirs and explore the local markets, others joined tour buses heading to Selçuk, where they visited the ancient city of Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary—two of the region’s most famous historical sites.

Local shopkeepers in Kuşadası reported one of the busiest days of the season, welcoming the influx of visitors with enthusiasm and high hopes for a vibrant summer ahead.
