Market Recap – July 31, 2025: Borsa Istanbul Rises, Dollar Steady, Gold Up

Today (Thursday, July 31), Borsa Istanbul closed the day on a positive note. The BIST 100 index gained 1.17% and ended at 10,743.20 points. During the day, it saw a high of 10,747.89 and a low of 10,640.80.

Among the most traded stocks were Turkish Airlines (THYAO), Koç Holding (KCHOL), and ASELSAN (ASELS). On the gainers’ side, YKSLN, VKING, and IMASM led the way, while CELHA, HOROZ, and MMCAS saw the biggest drops.

In terms of sector performance, technology, IT, and insurance stocks posted solid gains. Meanwhile, communication, sports, and transportation sectors lagged behind and ended the day lower.

In the currency markets, the dollar stood at 40.59 TL around 6:30 PM, showing a very slight dip. The euro, on the other hand, was up 0.44%, trading at 46.53 TL.

Gold prices moved up as well. An ounce of gold was priced at around $3,296, marking a 0.63% increase. In the Grand Bazaar, a gram of gold rose by 0.67% to 4,302.50 TL. Quarter gold traded at 7,034.59 TL, and the Republic gold coin was around 28,052 TL.

Oil and crypto had their moments too. Brent crude was priced at $72.43 per barrel, while Bitcoin hovered around $118,011 and Ethereum traded near $3,780.

All in all, it was a solid day for Turkish markets, with equities and gold gaining, and currencies staying mostly steady.
