Starting from the evening, temperatures will drop in many provinces, including Istanbul. The Turkish State Meteorological Service and the Istanbul Governor’s Office have issued back-to-back warnings regarding the expected thunderstorms and heavy rain in the city.
TEMPERATURES TO DROP IN THE AFTERNOON
According to the latest assessments by the Turkish State Meteorological Service, there will be a significant drop in temperatures starting this afternoon.
THUNDERSTORMS IN THE EVENING
In the evening, heavy thunderstorms will affect the western part of the Marmara region, and by nighttime, the entire Marmara region and the Northern Aegean will experience heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
WARNING FROM ISTANBUL GOVERNOR’S OFFICE
In addition to the Meteorological Service, the Istanbul Governor’s Office has also issued a warning to residents regarding the expected rainy weather. The cold front from the Balkans is expected to cause a temperature drop of 4 to 8 degrees.
The governor’s statement noted that temperatures in Istanbul are expected to fall to as low as 21 degrees, with the rainy weather expected to continue until Thursday.
