The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced its latest weather forecasts, predicting that temperatures across the country will remain below seasonal norms. A yellow alert has been issued for 7 provinces, with warnings that up to 75 kilograms of rain per square meter could fall. Heavy snowfall is also expected in the highlands of eastern Samsun, Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize, Gümüşhane, and Artvin.
With the drop in temperatures, snowy landscapes have already begun to appear in the northern and eastern parts of the country. According to Meteorology’s forecasts, partly cloudy weather will dominate these regions. Rain and showers are expected in the Black Sea region and the northern and eastern parts of Eastern Anatolia, while mixed rain and snow are forecast for the interior areas of the Eastern Black Sea, and snowfall is expected in the highlands.
Warning for Heavy Snow and Rain
Meteorology has issued a yellow code warning for Samsun, Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize, Gümüşhane, and Artvin.
