The Confederation of Revolutionary Workers’ Unions (DISK) has announced that the minimum wage demand is TL 5,200.
The minimum wage, which is valid in 2021, was announced as a net 2 thousand 825 liras 90 kurus with a 21.56 percent increase made at the beginning of the year. The dollar exchange rate, which was at the level of 7.36 at the beginning of the year, rose to 11.30 yesterday. The minimum wage was US$384 in January 2021, while due to currency shocks, this income has gone down to US$250 today.
Minimum wage talks are set to begin in December. The minimum wage is determined by the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, which consists of 15 people, including five employee representatives, five employer representatives and five state representatives, according to the law.
