Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek evaluated the recently announced tourism data, stating, “The tourism sector, which supports our goal of a sustainable current account balance, continues to strengthen our economy.”
In a statement shared on platform X, Şimşek said:
“Our tourism revenue reached $62.9 billion annually in the second quarter of 2025, while the number of visitors rose to 62.7 million.
Despite tensions in our region, tourism continues to perform strongly.
The tourism sector, which supports our sustainable current account balance goal, continues to be a source of strength for our economy.”
