The Muğla Governorship has issued a warning regarding the ‘construction ban’ that began on May 15th across Muğla: “Necessary punitive measures will be applied.” In a statement, the Muğla Governorship emphasized that necessary penalties would be imposed on those not complying with the construction ban following the evaluation of incoming reports.

The statement from the Muğla Governorship included the following:

“As known, according to the relevant circular published by our Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in order to ensure the sustainability of our country’s tourism, make it a permanent and branded quality, prevent damage to tourism activities, and avoid negative impressions among tourists visiting our country, a restriction is imposed on heavy transport, excavation, and concrete construction activities that have negative effects such as noise, unsightly appearance, and environmental pollution in tourist areas from May 15 to October 15.”

The statement from the Muğla Governorship highlighted that the restrictions on construction activities across Muğla aimed to minimize noise, visual, and environmental pollution during the tourism season, thus preserving the peace of residents and tourists visiting Muğla. It was also noted that all relevant institutions and organizations were working in cooperation to ensure the effectiveness of these restrictions.

The statement indicated that necessary actions were being taken based on reports and complaints received by the Governorship. “Additionally, those who do not comply with the construction bans will be subjected to the necessary punitive measures in accordance with the relevant legal provisions,” the statement said.

Finally, the statement included the following:

“There is no decision by our Governorship regarding any exemption from the construction ban. We kindly ask our citizens to inform our Governorship, district governorships, municipalities, and law enforcement units about issues that create unsightly views and cause discomfort. We will resolutely continue our efforts to maximize the tourism potential of our province and improve the quality of life for our residents and visitors during this period.”
