The White House hosted a crucial meeting today between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. After their bilateral meeting, Netanyahu answered questions in the Oval Office. Netanyahu stated, “We don’t want a conflict with Turkey.”

President Trump is hosting Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu for the second time in his new term at the White House. A recent announcement from the White House indicated that the scheduled joint press conference would not take place. Instead, both leaders would answer questions in the Oval Office.

After the meeting, Netanyahu made the following statement:

“WE DON’T WANT A CONFLICT WITH TURKEY”

“We don’t want Turkey to use Syria, and we don’t want to have a conflict with Turkey in Syria. We discussed how to prevent a conflict with Turkey in Syria. I believe there is no better mediator than the U.S. President. We are lifting customs tariffs on the U.S.”

“IRAN WILL BE UNDER GREAT DANGER”

President Trump said, “We’ve started direct talks with Iran, and we’ll continue on Saturday.” Trump’s statement included the following highlights:

“I told Israel that if they have problems with Turkey, I can help solve them. If talks with Iran don’t go well, Iran will be in great danger. Palestinians living in Gaza might go to another country. We can establish a freedom zone in Gaza. I’m not happy with Russia continuously striking Ukraine.”

“WE HAVE A GREAT RELATIONSHIP WITH ERDOGAN”

“I like Erdogan, and he likes me. This situation annoys the media. I congratulate Turkey. I told Erdogan, ‘You did what no one else could do in 2,000 years, you took control of Syria.’ Erdogan is truly strong and very intelligent. He achieved what no one else could. I told Netanyahu that Israelis should act wisely to solve any potential problems with Turkey.”
