New Survey Reveals Major Shift in Turkish Politics

A new opinion poll conducted by Gündemar Research has revealed a significant shift in Turkey’s political landscape, with the political party expected to be established under the leadership of Özgür Özel emerging as the leading choice among voters.

The survey was carried out between June 24 and June 27 across 60 provinces, with the participation of 2,350 respondents. Participants were asked which political party they would vote for if a parliamentary election were held this Sunday.

Özgür Özel’s Expected Party Takes the Lead

According to the survey, the new party expected to be founded by CHP’s elected chairman Özgür Özel received 34.9 percent of voter support, placing it in first position.

Meanwhile, the CHP under the continued leadership of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was measured at 4.32 percent.

AKP Ranks Second

The ruling AKP ranked second in the survey with 30.4 percent support.

Other parties included in the poll received the following results.

The DEM Party was measured at 7 percent.

The Victory Party, known in Turkish as Zafer Partisi, received 4.9 percent.

The Nationalist Movement Party, or MHP, stood at 4.7 percent.

The Good Party, or İYİ Party, recorded 4.6 percent.

Poll Highlights Possible Political Realignment

While opinion polls reflect public sentiment at the time they are conducted and do not predict final election outcomes, the latest Gündemar Research survey suggests that a new political movement led by Özgür Özel could significantly reshape Turkey’s political balance if established.
