U.A. a doctor in the Emergency Department of a “Training and Research Hospital” in Izmir, attended to 973 patients with his doctor friend on duty. The doctor, who was a diabetic, fainted while examining a patient. The diagnose was he had suffered a heart attack, on which occasion he was taken to Ataturk Training and Research Hospital by ambulance and taken under treatment.
The density of patients and the insufficient number of doctors began to threaten the lives of doctors. Obviously, said doctor had a heart attack as he was unable to withstand the intensity of the patients.
According to the information obtained and the minutes of the vigil obtained, two doctors on duty took care of 973 child patients. Said doctor, a diabetic, applied the insulin medication he used for his disease at 04.25 in the morning.
DOCTOR FAINTS AND HAS HEART ATTACK DUE TO DIABETES
However, he did not have the opportunity to eat because of the patient intensity. When the blood sugar fell below the normal values, he lost consciousness during the examination of a patient and fainted.
The doctor’s friend intervened. It was determined that he had a heart attack. He was sent to Atatürk Training and Research Hospital with the ambulance called and taken under treatment.
