Pegasus Airlines’ CEO Güliz Öztürk shared insights into the airline’s new international routes planned for 2024. On November 10, 2024, Öztürk and Pegasus Chairman Mehmet Nane accompanied a group of journalists on a flight to Thessaloniki to commemorate Mustafa Kemal Atatürk at his birthplace. During the event, Öztürk answered journalists’ questions and provided updates on Pegasus’ strategic goals and expansion plans.
Öztürk noted that Pegasus currently served 144 destinations across 53 countries, with 80% of flights being international. Out of these, 50% are to European countries, alongside routes to North Africa and the Middle East. Since 2022, the airline has accelerated the launch of new routes, including Bratislava, Scotland, Lisbon (Portugal), Seville (Spain), Dublin (Ireland), and Cairo (Egypt). Pegasus aims to expand further, subject to traffic agreements.

Looking forward, Öztürk indicated potential new routes, mentioning plans to explore opportunities in the Baltic region, expand in Spain and Italy, and establish routes to Algeria
In the first nine months of this year, Pegasus’ flight traffic and capacity grew by approximately 18%, with a load factor of 88%. The airline carried 28 million passengers in this period, close to last year’s total of 32 million. As of September 30, 2024, Pegasus had 112 aircraft, which will increase to 118 by year-end, with an additional nine planes joining the fleet in 2025. By 2029, Pegasus plans to add 53 more aircraft.
MOST PEGASUS FLIGHTS DEPART FROM SABIHA GÖKÇEN, AIRLINE’S SECONDARY HUB
Most of Pegasus’ flights—75-80%—depart from Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul. Antalya has become the airline’s secondary hub, with 20 flights originating there, followed by hubs in Ankara and Izmir.
She also expressed a desire to enter the markets of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. With over 500 accessible airports for narrow-body jets and Pegasus currently serving 109 international destinations, Öztürk sees ample room for growth in the coming years.
