Politics in Turkey: Poll from Research Firm that Predicted Last Election Outcome: Is Leading Party Changing?

SONAR Research, which accurately predicted the results of the last general and local elections, has published its latest October poll results. According to the survey, which SONAR prepared for its VIP members and was shared on Journalist Şaban Sevinç’s X account, the Republican People’s Party (CHP) has increased its lead over the Justice and Development Party (AKP).

CHP Leading AKP by 5 Points

The poll shows that the CHP is ahead of AKP by 5 points. The DEM Party received 9.2%, while the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and the Good Party (İYİP) hovered near the election threshold. The Victory Party (Zafer) and the New Welfare Party (YRP) also drew attention with their respective vote shares.

According to the SONAR poll results shared with VIP members:

– CHP: 33.4%

– AKP: 28.2%

– DEM: 9.2%

– MHP: 7.3%

– İYİP: 7.0%

– Zafer: 6.2%

– YRP: 6.2%

Increased Calls for Early Elections

The percentage of respondents who think early elections should be held has risen to 57.9%. In July, the percentage answering “Yes” to the same question was 51.4%.
