The terminal buildings of Atatürk Airport have officially been designated as a technopark, according to a decision signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and published in the Official Gazette.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced the move, stating that the technopark—established under the umbrella of Bilişim Vadisi (Informatics Valley)—would operate under the brand name “Terminal Istanbul”, and will serve as the world’s largest technology entrepreneurship hub.
“Technopark” Status Officially Granted
Minister Kacır shared the following on his social media account:
“With today’s decision signed by our President and published in the Official Gazette, the terminal buildings of Atatürk Airport have been declared a technopark.
Affiliated with Bilişim Vadisi (Informatics Valley), this technopark—branded as Terminal Istanbul—will become the world’s largest technology entrepreneurship center. Thousands of tech startups will be born, grow, and connect with investors here.
Together with many stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, we will transform Istanbul into a global hub for entrepreneurship.
The massive complex will also include a science center, a software and artificial intelligence school, and technology workshops catering to all age groups.”
