The Ministry of Trade has introduced new regulations regarding installment periods for refurbished mobile phones and vehicles through amendments to the “Regulation on Principles and Rules to be Applied in Retail Trade.”
According to the new changes, the installment periods for refurbished phones and vehicle sales have been adjusted. The regulation, titled “Regulation Amending the Regulation on Principles and Rules to be Applied in Retail Trade,” was published in the Official Gazette and came into effect.
As per the new rule, for refurbished mobile phones that are sold by renewal centers or authorized dealers and cost over 25,000 Turkish lira, or phones that are not refurbished but exceed 20,000 Turkish lira, the installment period is now limited to 3 months.
New Installment Regulations for Vehicle Sales:
The regulation also revises the installment periods for vehicle purchases. The new installment rules are as follows:
- For vehicles with a final invoice value of up to 400,000 TL, the maximum installment period is 48 months.
- For vehicles priced between 400,000 TL and 800,000 TL, the maximum period is 36 months.
- For vehicles valued between 800,000 TL and 1.2 million TL, the maximum installment period is 24 months.
- For vehicles priced between 1.2 million TL and 2 million TL, the installment period is limited to 12 months.
- For vehicles costing more than 2 million TL, no installment options are allowed.
These new rules regulate how long buyers can pay in installments for various price categories of phones and vehicles.
