A Presidential decree published in the Official Gazette has increased the fixed excise tax (ÖTV) rates on alcoholic beverages. The fixed ÖTV rate for high-alcohol and distilled alcoholic drinks has been raised from 1,269 TL to 1,428 TL.
The decision, signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, revises the minimum fixed tax amounts for certain goods, as well as the excise tax rates for some items. According to the decree, for alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content of 22% or higher by volume, the fixed rate previously set at 1,269.7257 TL has been increased to 1,428.4400 TL.
Similarly, for denatured ethyl alcohol and other distilled alcoholic beverages, regardless of their alcohol content, the rate has also been raised from 1,269.7257 TL to 1,428.4400 TL.
