Reaction from the AK Party to Biden’s statement about genocide

US President Joe Biden used the phrase “genocide” in his statement about the events in1915 today, like last year. AK Party spokesman responded as follows: “It lacks historical and legal foundations.”

Biden’s written statement was also published on the official website of the White House. In his statement, he specified April 24 as the date when the genocide began, while Biden did not mention the Ottoman State or Turkey in the message text.

There was also a reaction from the AKP after the statement by Turkey’s Foreign Ministry, to Biden’s statement. AKP spokesman OMER CELIK said: “US President Biden’s statement lacks historical and legal grounds. We express that the statement aimed at pleasing the lobbies that make genocide slander a sector has no basis.”
