Stricter Controls on Misleading Listings

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has tightened inspections on short-term tourist rentals and introduced heavy penalties for deceptive advertising. Homeowners who share misleading information — from physical features to location details — will now face an administrative fine of 100,000 TL.

Harsh Fines for False or Misleading Promotion

Under the new regulation, property owners who promote their rental homes as if they meet permit requirements — even though they actually don’t — or who provide inaccurate or deceptive details about the unit will be fined 100,000 TL.
This applies to all platforms, including social media, websites, brochures, and similar channels.

One Permit, Multiple Properties? Still a Heavy Penalty

If multiple properties are operated under a single permit on behalf of the same person or company, and misleading descriptions about the property’s features, location, or qualifications are detected across any promotional medium, a fixed fine of 100,000 TL will be issued in a single enforcement action.
