Refreshing Forecast from Meteorology… “Coming Towards the Weekend”

Temperatures in Turkey, which have been above seasonal norms, will drop by 7-8 degrees, especially in the interior regions, and rainy weather will prevail towards the weekend.

Mehmet Özdemirci, Weather Forecast Specialist at the General Directorate of Meteorology, evaluated the week’s weather forecast. He pointed out that temperatures above seasonal norms across the country would start to decrease from Wednesday. “Temperatures in Turkey are currently 3-4 degrees above seasonal norms. However, temperatures will drop to seasonal norms, especially in the interior regions. From Saturday onwards, temperatures will drop a bit more, and we will see lower temperatures than we are experiencing now,” he said.

COOLER WEATHER IN MIDWEEK

He stated that temperatures in the Central Anatolia Region, which are around 35-36 degrees, will drop to 32 degrees from Wednesday and further decrease to 28-29 degrees after Saturday.

Emphasizing that the temperature drop will be particularly significant in the interior regions of the country, he noted that temperatures in coastal areas will only decrease by 1-2 degrees.

He explained that intermittent showers are expected tomorrow in the western part of Marmara, the interior regions of the Western Mediterranean, Eastern Mediterranean, the interior regions of Central and Eastern Black Sea, and around Konya and Afyonkarahisar. He added:

“On Wednesday, the area affected by showers will expand, and we expect showers and thunderstorms in the eastern part of Marmara, Western and Central Black Sea, Eastern Black Sea coasts, the general area of Central Anatolia, the interior regions of the Mediterranean, and around Afyonkarahisar. Meanwhile, temperatures in Aydın and Denizli will be 42-43 degrees, and temperatures in the Southeastern Anatolia Region will exceed 40 degrees.”

WEATHER IN THE THREE MAJOR CITIES

Özdemirci said that thunderstorms are expected in Istanbul tomorrow and Wednesday, with daytime temperatures ranging between 32-33 degrees and nighttime temperatures between 25-26 degrees for three days.

In Ankara, Özdemirci stated that partly cloudy weather will prevail tomorrow with no rain expected, adding, “We expect rain especially in the central and eastern districts on Wednesday. We expect rainy weather on Thursday with temperatures ranging between 21-33 degrees.”

Özdemirci noted that no showers are expected in Izmir for three days, with temperatures ranging between 36-38 degrees.
