In its ongoing effort to improve road safety, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality has completed the installation of 34,780 meters of guardrails and 1,512 meters of protective barriers designed for motorcycle and bicycle riders over the past year.
With the slogan “Safe Roads,” the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality continues its commitment to ensuring comfortable and secure transportation for all residents and visitors. In addition to installing vertical signage and applying road markings, municipal teams have been pushing forward with guardrail production and installation to boost traffic safety across the region.
Guardrail and Barrier Installations Completed in Key Areas
The need for enhanced roadside safety becomes especially critical during the busy tourism season and in rural neighborhoods with increasing traffic. Addressing this, the municipality has completed extensive guardrail installations in high-traffic areas. Over the past year, 34,780 meters of standard guardrails and 1,512 meters of protective barriers for two-wheeled vehicles were installed in a short timeframe.
Nearly 37 Million TL Invested in Road Safety
This extensive project involved a total investment of 36,947,965 TL. Of this, 35,953,825 TL was allocated for guardrail production and installation, while 994,140 TL was dedicated to protective barriers specifically designed for the safety of motorcyclists and cyclists.
With these improvements, Muğla continues to make significant strides toward safer roads for everyone, from daily commuters to seasonal travelers.
