Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek said, “When we bring inflation down to single digits, you will be able to buy homes more comfortably.” Şimşek spoke at the ‘Southeastern Table Istanbul Meeting’ held at a hotel in Bahçelievler.
Şimşek said the following:
“We know the problems of our tradesmen, retirees, workers, and minimum wage earners. We have solved these problems in the past, and we have rapidly developed Turkey. We have improved its infrastructure, invested in education, invested in health, and expanded our economy.
“In recent years, inflation has been a significant issue both globally and in Turkey. With the program we have put forward, we will once again bring inflation down to single digits. When we bring inflation down to single digits, you will be able to buy homes more comfortably. Because you will be able to access housing loans. Before the AK Party governments, there were almost no housing loans available. When we bring it down to single digits, access to credit increased.”
