Snow Surprise in April! Meteorology Warns: Showers in 20 Provinces, Snow in 18 Provinces

According to forecasts from the Turkish State Meteorological Service, much of the country is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy with intermittent precipitation. Rain and showers are expected in general, while mixed rain and snow — even snowfall — is predicted for parts of Inner Aegean, the Lakes Region, northern Central Anatolia, the inland parts of the Black Sea, and the eastern provinces of Ardahan, Erzincan, Tunceli, Kars, Erzurum, Ağrı, and Bitlis.

Stronger rainfall is forecast for areas such as Rize, eastern parts of Trabzon, inland areas of Samsun, Ordu, and Giresun, and the coastal regions of Artvin.

Marmara

Mostly cloudy with regional rainfall (except for Çanakkale and Balıkesir). Rain and showers are likely; in Bilecik, expect rain mixed with snow or even snow.

Aegean

Mostly cloudy with rain expected throughout the region. Kütahya, Uşak, and Afyonkarahisar may see rain mixed with snow or snow.

Mediterranean

Partly to mostly cloudy, with intermittent rainfall expected except for the western coastal areas. Snow or mixed rain is possible in the Lakes Region.

Central Anatolia

Partly to mostly cloudy. Snow or mixed rain expected in the north, rain and showers in the south. Winds from the north may be strong to gale-force (40–80 km/h).

Western Black Sea

Very cloudy with scattered showers. Rain expected along the coast, and mixed rain or snow inland. Strong winds from the north (50–80 km/h).

Central and Eastern Black Sea

Cloudy with scattered rain or showers. Rain in coastal areas, mixed rain and snow inland. Heavy precipitation is expected in Rize, inland Samsun, Ordu, Giresun, eastern Trabzon, and coastal Artvin.

Eastern Anatolia

Cloudy with scattered rain and showers (except Van). Snow or mixed rain is expected in Ardahan, Erzincan, Tunceli, Kars, Erzurum, Ağrı, and Bitlis.

Southeastern Anatolia

Cloudy with intermittent showers expected throughout the region.
