The “Approved Appointment System” in the Central Physician Appointment System (MHRS) begins today. The system will allow the capacity left vacant after appointment cancellations to be used for patients awaiting services. With every vacant appointment, patients who couldn’t secure an appointment but left a request will be reached, and priority will be given to those who requested first.

Here are the 10 questions and answers about the new system:

1. What is the “Approved Appointment System” and when will it be implemented?

The Approved Appointment System allows the capacity left vacant after appointment cancellations to be used for patients awaiting services. The application will be effective for appointments made starting from Monday, May 13th.

2. Do individuals who make appointments through the system need to confirm that they will comply with the appointment time?

Individuals are required to confirm their appointments or notify if they cannot make it by 8:00 PM one day before the appointment date. Confirmation can be given through all channels including the “www.mhrs.gov.tr” website, mobile application, and the “ALO 182” call center.

3. Can confirmed appointments be canceled?

Appointments can be canceled via the “www.mhrs.gov.tr” website, mobile application, and the ALO 182 call center until 8:00 PM one day before the appointment date.

4. How will the process be carried out for individuals who make appointments but fail to confirm them?

Appointments of individuals who do not confirm their appointments until the last confirmation time will be canceled by the system.

5. Will there be any restrictions for individuals who do not attend their confirmed appointments?

Individuals who confirm their appointments but fail to attend will be restricted from making new appointments for the same specialty for 15 days. However, they can still receive services without an appointment from healthcare facilities under the Ministry.

6. Will individuals who fail to confirm or cancel their appointments be able to receive services from the hospital they applied to the next day?

Appointments that are not confirmed will be automatically canceled at 8:00 PM one day before the appointment date. In such cases, individuals can either make a new appointment or receive services without an appointment from healthcare facilities.

7. Is confirmation mandatory for all appointments?

Confirmation is mandatory for all appointments made three days or more in advance, but appointments made within the last two days before the examination date will be automatically confirmed. For example, an appointment made for May 24th on May 22nd or 23rd will be automatically confirmed.

8. Are there any groups exempt from the approved appointment system?

Individuals aged 65 and over and cancer patients will be exempt from the approved appointment system. These individuals can make appointments at any time.

9. If a person who has made an appointment for May 24th at 2:00 PM and confirmed it encounters a situation that prevents them from attending after confirmation, what should they do?

Appointments can be canceled by the individual or automatically until 8:00 PM on May 23rd. Individuals who fail to cancel their confirmed appointments and do not attend will be restricted from making new appointments for the same specialty for 15 days. However, they can still receive services without an appointment from healthcare facilities.

10. 200 individuals have appointments scheduled for the next day, but they haven’t confirmed them by 8:00 PM. Will these appointments be considered canceled automatically and given to requesting patients?

Individuals whose appointments are automatically canceled due to lack of confirmation can make new appointments. There will be no restrictions. Vacant appointments automatically canceled by 8:00 PM will be given priority to requesting individuals.
