Survey result: 83% of the Turkish people say they are uncomfortable with refugees

What Do People Say About Refugees? The latest poll by MAK Consultancy has provided following results.

– 83% of the public is disturbed by the presence of refugees and they believe that the refugees are the root cause of social and economic problems.

– 82% of the public thinks that refugees create security issues.

According to a survey conducted by the international research company Ipsos and UNHCR with 33,197 adults in 52 countries, including Turkey, for World Refugee Day 2024:

– Turkey is the country where the opinions that borders should be closed to refugees and that refugees cannot make a positive contribution to society are most strongly defended.

– 70% of the public in Turkey believes that the real reason behind migration is not escaping war but economic reasons.

– 70% of the public in Turkey also says that legal measures to send refugees back are insufficient and that additional measures are needed.
