Steel products, which stand out with their durability and long service life, are preferred in many areas from shipbuilding to the maintenance of vessels in the maritime sector. Tatmetal, as one of Turkey’s leading flat steel producers, manufactures hot-rolled pickled, cold-rolled, galvanized, and pre-painted flat steel under the Tatçelik brand.
In 2021, the steel sector ranked first among industries with the highest increase in exports and accounted for 10% of Turkey’s total exports. Tatmetal, one of Turkey’s largest industrial companies, successfully advanced from 79th to 33rd place in the 2021 results of the “Turkey’s Top 1000 Exporters” study conducted annually by the Turkish Exporters Assembly. Exporting 50% of its production to global markets, Tatmetal also climbed from 14th to 9th place within the entire steel sector, thanks to its performance in 2021.
A KEY PLAYER IN THE SECTOR WITH ANNUAL PRODUCTION CAPACITY OF 1.5 MILLION TONS
As of the January-May period of 2022, the steel sector achieved a 34.6% increase in exports in dollar terms compared to the same period of the previous year. Tatmetal, with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tons, is a key player in the sector. During this period, Tatmetal managed to increase the amount of flat steel it exported by 8% in tonnage compared to the previous year.
Tatçelik is also scheduled to participate in the UK Metals Expo, one of the largest gatherings in the metal industry on September 11-12, 2024, to showcase their innovative solutions.
