The expected 45% Revaluation Rate increase in Turkey for 2025 is set to bring significant hikes in many tax and fine categories. Due to high inflation, these increases are likely to create even greater financial hardships, especially for low-income groups. This rise, which will be confirmed based on the inflation data to be announced in November, will lead to price hikes across a wide range of expenses, from taxes and fees to traffic fines.

The anticipated increases are as follows:

– Traffic fines: Violations such as speeding and not wearing a seatbelt will see a 45% increase, with the lowest fines exceeding 1000 TL.

– Passport fees: The total cost of passport fees, including both the application fee and booklet fee, will be 3522 TL for a 6-month passport, and 12,502 TL for a 4-10 year passport.

– Driver’s license exam and fee costs: The fee for a category B driver’s license will rise to 5720 TL, and the fee for official papers to 1435 TL.

These hikes are expected to impose a heavy burden on minimum wage earners and those with fixed incomes. The predicted 45% increase, driven by inflation, will likely raise the cost of daily living in Turkey at the start of the new-year.
