Based on said website the statement in question was made by the head of Iraq’s parliamentary committee on security and defense, Hakim al-Zamili, in an interview with Al-Araby Al-Jadeed
It is reported that Turkey has over 100 soldiers (approx 130 according to some sources) to northern Iraq, most recently. Turkish forces, deployed near the city of Mosul, are supposed to train Peshmerga, which has been involved in the fight against Daesh, also known as ISIL.
However Baghdad made a statement on Saturday describing the Turkish move as “a serious violation of Iraqi sovereignty,” since it had not been authorized by Iraq – as alleged by Iraqi authorities. Iraqi authorities also added that they could soon ask Russia for direct military intervention in Iraq in response to the Turkish invasion and the violation of Iraqi sovereignty,”
