This Week’s Best and Worst Performing Investment Assets

The arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu and his removal from the position of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor caused fluctuations in the markets. The best and worst performing investment assets for the last week of March have been revealed.

The BIST 100 index, after seeing a low of 8,872.75 points and a high of 9,830.83 points, ended the week at 9,659.48 points, 6.80% higher than the previous week’s closing.

GOLD BARS

The gram sales price of 24-carat gold bars in the Grand Bazaar increased by 2.15% this week, reaching 3,750 Turkish lira.

REPUBLIC GOLD COINS

The sales price of Republic gold coins also rose by 2.13%, reaching 25,375 Turkish lira.

QUARTER GOLD COINS

The sales price of quarter gold coins, which were 6,152 Turkish lira last week, increased by 2.10%, reaching 6,281 Turkish lira.

DOLLAR

The US dollar decreased by 0.01% this week, dropping to 38.0100 Turkish lira.

EURO

The Euro also dropped by 0.53%, reaching 41.1260 Turkish lira.

INVESTMENT FUNDS

Investment funds lost 0.51% in value this week, while pension funds dropped by 0.92%.

MONEY MARKET FUNDS

Among investment funds, money market funds performed the best, gaining 0.40%.
