Mandatory holidays announced by the government in Russia with the approval of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which may adversely affect the business world, have put a smile on faces of professionals in Turkey’s tourism sector.
According to news on Gazetem.Ru a representative of the National Network of Travel Agencies, announced that there was a 30 percent increase in applications for tours to Turkey and Egypt between November Dec October 30th- November 7th, after the announcement of a mandatory holiday in the country.
49 percent of bookings to Turkey in October
In a statement made by Level.Travel travel agency, it was stated that most of the reservations in October were for Turkey with 49 percent, and requests for Egyptian holiday tours reached 24 percent.
Experts emphasize that at the moment the level of demand corresponds to 2019, while also noting that tours in Russia usually account for only 5 percent of bookings.
October November 30- November 7 in Russia was declared a holiday
During a meeting with members of the government, Russian President Vladimir Putin, had announced the period from October 30 to November 7 a holiday, due to the situation with the spread of coronavirus infection.
Putin had also called on citizens “not to neglect the measure of isolating themselves.
