According to calculations based on inflation-adjusted data by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the highest real return in February was provided by gold bars.
Highest Monthly Real Return:
- When adjusted for the Domestic Producer Price Index (Yİ-ÜFE), gold bars yielded a return of 7.92%, and when adjusted for the Consumer Price Index (TÜFE), it provided a return of 7.76%.
- Deposit interest (gross) yielded 1.16%, Treasury Bills (DİBS) yielded 0.63%, and Euro yielded 0.26%. Meanwhile, the US Dollar lost 0.29% and the BIST 100 index lost 4.18%.
Highest Return in the Last 3 Months:
- Treasury Bills (DİBS) provided the highest real return with 6.50% when adjusted for Yİ-ÜFE and 3.70% when adjusted for TÜFE.
- Euro was the investment instrument that caused the most loss, with a decrease of 2.59% when adjusted for Yİ-ÜFE and 5.15% when adjusted for TÜFE.
Highest Return in the Last 6 Months:
- Gold bars provided the highest real return with 15.79% when adjusted for Yİ-ÜFE and 7.58% when adjusted for TÜFE.
- The BIST 100 index caused the most loss, with a decrease of 10.10% when adjusted for Yİ-ÜFE and 16.47% when adjusted for TÜFE.
Annual Evaluation:
- Gold bars provided the highest real return with 32.34% when adjusted for Yİ-ÜFE and 19.17% when adjusted for TÜFE.
- On an annual basis, deposit interest (gross) provided a real return of 8.31% when adjusted for Yİ-ÜFE, DİBS yielded 2.78%, and the US Dollar lost 6.16%. The Euro lost 9.47%, and the BIST 100 index lost 14.18%.
In summary, gold bars have been the investment instrument with the highest real return both monthly and annually.
