Consumer inflation rose to 6.28 percent in the first eight months and to 9.54 percent on the annual basis, said in the statement released by Turkish Statistical Institute.
The highest monthly increase seen in hotels at 1.64 percent, cafes and restaurants, while the indices rose for food and non-alcoholic beverages at 0.89 percent, for education at 0.75 percent, for miscellaneous goods and services at 0.65 percent, for recreation and culture at 0.59 percent, in August.
The highest monthly decrease was seen in clothing and footwear at 4.92 percent, due to seasonal collection changes in the stores. The indices fell at alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 0.46 percent and for transportation at 0.06 percent.
The highest annual increase seen in hotels, cafes and restaurants at 14.73 percent, in food and non-alcoholic beverages at 14.44 percent, in furnishings and household equipment at 9.64 percent, in transportation at 9.45 percent, in health at 9.08 percent.
In August 2014 within average prices of 432 items in the index, average prices of 64 items remained unchanged while average prices of 255 items increased and average prices of 113 items decreased.
