Minister Bilgin has made a statement announcing PCR testing will be mandated in public institutions.

Labor and Social Security Minister Vedat Bilgin said in his statement; “Workers who do not have Covid-19 vaccine may be required by the workplace/employer to take a PCR test once a week as of September 6, and the test results will be recorded for the necessary actions to be taken.”

It is known that there are a significant number of people in Turkey, who are against vaccination. In fact, a protest rally will be held by said people in the coming days.

So far, the government has not made vaccination mandatory for all citizens, but restrictions have been placed on some activities for those who are not vaccinated.
