Istanbul, Bodrum, Fethiye, and Antalya Among Key Tourist Destinations Affected by Cloudy Conditions
According to the latest forecast released by the Turkish State Meteorological Service, much of Turkey will experience partly to mostly cloudy weather on Tuesday, May 26, with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected across several regions.
Popular tourist destinations including Istanbul, Bodrum, Fethiye, and Antalya will see changing weather conditions throughout the day, although temperatures are expected to remain relatively mild.
Istanbul Forecast: Cloudy but Warm
Turkey’s largest city, Istanbul, is expected to remain partly and mostly cloudy with daytime temperatures around 25°C. While no major rainfall is forecast directly in the city center, nearby areas in the Marmara region, including Edirne and parts of Sakarya, may experience thunderstorms later in the day.
The cloudy but comfortable conditions are likely to continue across the Bosphorus and historic districts throughout Tuesday.
Bodrum and Fethiye: Aegean Coast Faces Possible Showers
Along Turkey’s southwestern coast, Bodrum and Fethiye are expected to experience partly cloudy skies with the possibility of localized showers as unstable weather moves across Muğla Province.
Nearby Muğla is forecast to see intermittent rain and thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Despite the clouds, temperatures along the Aegean coast are expected to remain pleasant, near 27°C to 30°C.
Antalya Region Sees Higher Thunderstorm Risk
The Mediterranean resort city of Antalya will also experience partly to mostly cloudy weather, with thunderstorms expected in inland districts as well as some western and eastern coastal areas.
Meteorologists forecast temperatures around 27°C in Antalya, though humidity and unstable atmospheric conditions may lead to sudden rainfall in certain districts, particularly away from the central coastline.
Travelers planning outdoor activities in the Antalya region are advised to monitor local weather updates during the day.
Heavy Rain Warning for Eastern Black Sea
While western tourist regions will mainly see scattered showers and clouds, the strongest rainfall is expected in northeastern Turkey.
Authorities issued a heavy rain warning for Rize and the coastal districts of Artvin, where locally intense downpours may cause disruptions, localized flooding, and transportation difficulties.
Temperatures Remain Near Seasonal Norms
According to the forecast, temperatures across most of western Turkey will remain close to seasonal averages, while eastern regions are expected to stay slightly cooler than normal for late May.
Winds are forecast to blow lightly to moderately from northern directions in western regions and from southern directions in eastern parts of the country.
