Total automotive production in Turkey in first 10 months of the year compared to the same period of 2018 decreased by 8 percent and was recorded at 1 million 189 thousand 539 units. In the same period, total automotive exports amounted to 1 million 31 thousand 296 units.
The Automotive Industry Association (OSD) announced production, export quantities and market data for October January-October period of current year.
Accordingly, while the severe contraction in the domestic market and the partial decline of export markets continued to have a negative impact on production, total exports exceeded 1 million as of October.
Based on OSD data, total production decreased by 8 percent in January – October period compared to the same period of the previous year and was recorded at 1 million 189 thousand 539 units. Car production also decreased by 8 percent and became 794 thousand 156 units.
The total market in said period contracted by 32 percent compared to same period last year. The car market also contracted by 29 per cent and became 268,624 units.
According to OSD (Automotive Industrialists Association), total production in the Commercial Vehicle Group fell by 10 percent in the 10-month period of the year and total commercial vehicle production was 395,383 units.
During this period, Light Commercial Vehicle Group production decreased by 9 percent and Heavy Commercial Vehicle Group production decreased by 20 percent.
