At its weekly briefing, the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that agreements had been signed for the procurement of F-16s from the USA.
In a significant development in the negotiations between Turkey and the USA for the procurement of F-16s, MSB sources stated that the agreement had been signed. The Ministry officials provided details on the F-16 procurement, stating that while the agreements had been signed, discussions on the specifics were ongoing between the respective delegations.
MSB Press and Public Relations Advisor Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, during a press briefing at the Ministry, provided updates on the latest status of the F-16 procurement process from the USA and addressed the so-called local elections planned and subsequently postponed by the terrorist organization PKK in northern Syria.
In his statement, Aktürk said:
“Agreements have been signed. Work on the details continues through discussions between the respective delegations. The specifics and details will be shared with the public after decisions are made.”
