It has been announced that two Chinese airlines have completed the necessary preparations to begin flights to Istanbul. Recently, there has been a significant increase in the number of Chinese tourists visiting Turkey.
Currently, five airlines operate flights between China and Turkey: Turkish Airlines (THY), China Southern, China Eastern, Air China, and Sichuan Airlines. These airlines offer flights from cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Urumqi, and Hong Kong to Turkey.
Officials from Istanbul Airport (IGA) are continuing discussions to expand flights to more destinations in China. In this context, it has been stated that Hainan Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines have completed the necessary preparations to begin flights to Istanbul.
With the expected new aviation agreement between the two countries, flight frequencies are anticipated to increase. After this agreement, Hainan Airlines is expected to start flights from Chongqing, and Shenzhen Airlines from Shenzhen to Istanbul. Additionally, Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airlines is also reportedly working to begin flights to Istanbul. (Havasosyalmedya)
