“During the excavations carried out as part of our ‘Heritage for the Future’ project in Aspendos Ancient City, two magnificent statues from the Roman Imperial period have been discovered. The enchanting and elegant depictions of Zeus and Aphrodite, which are 2,000 years old, were unearthed during the excavations in the Two-Storey Shops-Stoa Complex. I hope that the artifacts and structures we will restore will be beneficial to the cultural and tourism life of our country.”
These newly discovered statues add significant historical value to the already rich heritage of Aspendos, promising to enhance both cultural understanding and tourism appeal in the region.
