Ukrainian tourist drowns in Antalya

A foreign woman who experienced a drowning incident on the beach of a five-star hotel in Konaklı, Alanya, Antalya, passed away at the hospital where she was taken.

Maryna Ostymchuk (58), a Ukrainian national, was swimming at the beach of a five-star hotel in Konaklı, Alanya, when she began to drown. A lifeguard noticed her distress and brought her to shore, where 112 Emergency Health teams arrived after being alerted. Despite initial treatment and being rushed to the hospital by ambulance, Ostymchuk could not be saved and passed away despite doctors’ efforts.

Her body was transferred to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. After the legal procedures, her body was handed over to her relatives this morning. Ostymchuk’s body will be sent to Ukraine, where she will be buried.
