Foreign investments in real estate in Turkey reach $ 2 billion in 2011

Foreign investments in the real estate sector in Turkey have reached 2 billion U.S. dollars in 2011.

According to data from International Direct Investment Bulletin gathered by AA correspondent, Turkey attracted 15.7 billion U.S. dollars of foreign direct investment in 2011. Flow of foreign direct investment in Turkey has increased 74 percent between January and December 2011 when compared to the same period of the previous year.

In December 2011, an international direct investment worth 3.3 billion USD has flowed to the country. 1.3 billion of this amount came from Asian countries in the mentioned month.

In 2011, the highest foreign direct investment came from the Netherlands with 1.5 billion USD.

The United States, France and Britain followed the Netherlands with 1.4 billion USD, 985 million USD and 895 million USD of foreign direct investment, respectively in the same year.
