TSUNAMI EARTHQUAKE RUSSIA

A powerful 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck Russia, prompting the evacuation of 2 million people in Japan. Tsunami warnings have been issued in both the United States and China.

The massive quake occurred near Russia’s eastern Kamchatka region and triggered tsunami alerts in several Pacific coastal countries, as well as in various regions of the U.S. The series of aftershocks that followed heightened public concern, leading to repeated evacuation orders.

STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED

Yevgeniy Belyayev, the Mayor of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, announced via his Telegram channel that a state of emergency had been declared in the city due to the earthquake.

Belyayev stated that the city had entered a heightened state of preparedness and that necessary operations were ongoing. He also noted that while some buildings in the city were damaged, fortunately, there had been no loss of life.
