Since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022, the United States has provided Ukraine with $81 billion in aid. The Director for European Affairs at the US National Security Council, spoke to Ukrainian media regarding this support.

When asked about the possibility of new aid, he stated, “We recently passed a law concerning additional funding. It should be noted that since the beginning of the war, we have provided approximately $81 billion in aid to Ukraine, and this is a significant amount. Of this, $51 billion is military aid.”

While the director did not provide specifics on future aid, he mentioned the upcoming year-end election and emphasized their focus on enhancing Ukraine’s capabilities to meet wartime needs.

He said, “We know one of the current priority needs is air defense. Therefore, we are communicating with our allies on how to provide more effective air defense to Ukraine. Under President Biden’s leadership, the establishment of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group has played a crucial role in bringing our allies and partners together to provide the needed support for Ukraine.”
