Akmaz Public Beach in Fethiye is opening for the new season on Friday, May 10

The Akmaz Public Beach and recreational area, operated by Fethiye Municipality Services Tourism and Trade Inc. since the summer months of 2022, is set to greet the 2024 tourism season on Friday, May 10, 2024.

The Fethiye Municipality teams have put in intensive effort for the opening of Akmaz Public Beach, scheduled for Friday. The completion of the works at Akmaz Public Beach and recreational area will be celebrated on the first day of May 10th Disabilities Awareness Week, with the participation of relevant civil society organizations. A free meal service is also planned for participants during the event, which will take place between 11:00 and 16:00.

In consideration of the significance of the opening day, special education institutions in Fethiye, including the Special Saygın Special Education and Rehabilitation Center, Special Nursel Özdemir Rehabilitation Center, Son Atılım Rehabilitation Center, and Zeynep Ceylan Rehabilitation Center, will participate in the opening ceremony.

Additionally, representatives and managers from organizations such as the Altı Nokta Blind Association, Fethiye Association of Physical Disabilities, Turkey Disabled Association, Association for the Mentally Disabled, Fethiye Alzheimer’s Association, and Fethiye Autism Association will also attend the event. The management and residents of the Günlükkent Site, who recently conducted cleaning, environmental landscaping, and afforestation efforts in Akmaz, will also join the “season hello” event.
