Turkey not on the list of countries where women can travel alone
Women murders which have reached scary dimensions often with sexual violence and the increasing continuation of domestic violence against women go far beyond being a “domestic” issue; it is reflected in international tourism research.
According to the ranking made in Turkey and based on four studies conducted by establishments such as SportsCover Direct, The Travel Corporation, TTC Tour Brands and Solo Female Travel, Turkey is not among the top 20 countries where women can travel alone.
In the research conducted, Turkey is not in the top 10 or top 20 of the index which was created by considering the criteria of “safe travel of a woman alone” from different angles.
The research was conducted over 50 full points
Out of 50 full points of research conducted, Spain ranked first in SportsCover Direct’s list with 47.4. According to the news in Sözcü (newspaper) other research by Solo Female Travel showed that Iceland ranked first in, while Barcelona (Spain) ranked second. (TA)
