Is Turkey being pushed into a fight with Syria?

"Share this post on social media, spread the news"

The conflict in Syria and the violent and ruthless fight between 2 parties namely Assad forces and Free Syrian Army has eventually jumped to Turkey.

Many opinion leaders have been commenting since the beginning of this conflict that the ultimate purpose is to stir up the whole balance in the ME region and start a chaos where regimes against the benefits of big Powers are sent home and even an intervention of NATO (and USA maybe) would be considered fair – as was the case in Iraq.

It should not take much effort to grasp the reason is to have total control of energy resources in the region. The whole fight/unrest revolves around this basic fact: Who will control the oil resources in ME?

Turkey, since the very beginning has been a tool for this inhumanly power game STAGED by superpowers of the world and unfortunately has had to make up reasons such as “We could not just stand and watch this inhuman catastrophe and all..” kind of stuff..

Turkey has earned the hostility of Syria and to be much worse has taken the position to confront a superpower such as Russia which has major interest in the continuation of the Assad regime in Syria as well as Iran which the USA has defined as the most dangerous country for the benefits of the USA. It is a known fact that Iran is the biggest supporter of Assad to keep the current regime so that USA won’t step into the region.

And eventually.. following fights of months long the much feared incident took place on Wednesday afternoon;

A mortar exploded in the town center and at least 5 people were killed and 9 wounded in Akçakale township of Şanlıurfa province. Initial reports say a mother and 2 children of hers were killed on site. There are also people with serious injuries. The reports also say 2 of the wounded are police officers.

In return, Turkey reciprocated to Syria’s attack with its armed forces at the border region within the rules of engagement immediately and Syrian targets detected by radars were hit by Turkish artillery fire as per the statement released by the Turkish Prime Ministry.

Turkish Governement has also declared that Turkey, within rules of engagement and international laws, would never leave unanswered the provocations of the Syrian regime targeting Turkey’s national security.

When we look at the issue from Turkey’s point of view, this country has been fgoing through major problems for decades and has managed to settle its economy on a better ground recently only. On the other hand it has been suffering the terrorist acts by pro-Kurdish PKK for over 30 years and has incurred great loss both in terms of human lives and monetarily. Moreover Turkey has a very young and rapidlu growing population in need of jobs and a future to live for.

When the country is absoulutely engaged in such big and truly difficult issues to work out, it should not spend its efforts for the sake of superpowers at a cost of having to confront another superpower (Russia) and dangerous opponents like Iran, on grounds of simple unrational reasons such as protecting lives of innocent people against a tyrant, in our neighbor when Turkey has difficulties trying to protect the lives of its own citizens. This task belongs to international establishments such as United Nations and Nato. That is exactly why they exist. On no fair grounds should they be authorized to assign their own task to Turkey.

If there is one thing Turkey should do, it should not allow to be pumped up by superpowers that would not hesitate to leave Turkey on its own to confront all those countries with hostility towards Turkey.

To recap, it is truly difficult to comment Turkey has been playing the game right from the beginning and the picture is very clear that the country has entangled into big trouble in the  region which has been in fire throughout history anyway.

Now it is time to think not twice but multiple times before the country jumps into any thing not to drawn in this swamp of the globe.
