Turkey attracts US$ 13.2 billion foreign direct investment in 2018

Despite all economic difficulties in and fluctuations of local currency Turkey experienced in 2018, a total of US$ 13.2 billion foreign direct investment came to the country last year.

Based on official report by CBRT, in December 2018 FDI inflows increased by 38 percent year-on-year basis and they went up to US$ 13 billion 163 million corresponding to an increase of 14 percent year-on-year basis.

On the other hand, it is observed that in 2018, among total capital investments production was at the top of the list with US$ 2 billion, followed by retail, finance and energy, respectively.

Experts comment that in 2018 during which a serious decline in total FDI in the world was observed, the FDI performance Turkey has shown can be considered as an important success.

With this success, Turkey has once again proved it is reliable country globally thanks to its strong economic fundamentals.
