Turkish constructors undertake projects worth US$ 17,6 billion

Turkish Construction sector the major locomotive of the Turkish economy has shown great performance in 2012 as well.

Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan informed that the Turkish construction sector had undertaken 72 projects worth $ 4.6 billion in Turkmenistan this year.

Caglayan stated the total value of the projects undertaken by the Turkish contracting companies in 2012 had reached $ 17.6 billion, to include the ones in Turkmenistan.

Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan made a written statement that said the Turkish construction sector which ranked second after China, with 33 companies among top 225, continued to achieve success each and every year by undertaking new projects.

Çağlayan also explained that Turkish companies contributed to the public improvements of Turkmenistan by completing unfinished projects as well as undertaking new projects and added the best example for this situation was the case where a Turkish company had completed the construction work for 5 flour mills, bread and pasta manufacturing facility and also sales office construction project left unfinished by a German company.
