10 planes to land at Sabiha Gökçen Airport of Istanbul, diverted to Izmir and Ankara

10 aircraft that could not land at Sabiha Gökçen Airport due to the snowfall effective in Istanbul, were first diverted to Izmir and Ankara, and then returned to Sabiha Gökçen to land.
There were delays in flights at Sabiha Gökçen Airport due to snowfall which increased its intensity during the evening.
The heavy snowfall reduced the visibility distance and runway clearance work, causing some aircraft to make laps in the air, for a while. 10 aircraft were diverted to Izmir and Ankara first, then returned to land at Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
It was learned that air traffic at Sabiha Gökçen Airport had returned to normal after the decrease in precipitation and the cleaning works.
