32 sites in MUGLA declared for geothermal plants that lead to environmental carnage

32 sites have been declared in Muğla for GEOTHERMAL POWER PLANTS (JES) that dry trees and lead to environmental carnage. Among the places to be opened for the massacre for 30 years are the sites in Bodrum Mazı, the wonder of nature and tourism, the historical Bafa, Türkbükü, Dalyan, Datça and Marmaris.

As the discussion over geothermal power plants that dry olive and fig trees in Aydın and attract a great reaction due to the damage to the environment continues, 32 sites were announced for JES investments in Muğla. Among the places to be tendered are  wonderful Bodrum Mazı, the historical Bafa, the tourist center Bodrum Türkbükü, the spawning area of caretta caretta turtles in Dalyan.

32 geothermal fields (28 exploration, 4 enterprises) will be tendered according to the announcement published by the investment monitoring and coordination Directorate of Muğla governorship. A 3-year search license and a 30-year operating license will be issued with the tender. The largest of the sites is 4992.56 hectares. All concerned places are known to be tourist paradises and natural wonders.

According to the news in Cumhuriyet (newspaper), spots such as Bodrum Gökbel, Yalıkavak, Dalaman, Seydikemer, Milas Bozalan-Kayaönü, Menteşe, Ula, Bodrum Çamlık, Yatağan, Marmaris alayar are also on the list. Operating licensed fields are listed as follows: Milas Karahayit, Bodrum Dereköy, Köyceğiz, Datça. Tenders will be held at 09.30 am on October 26.
