Caretta caretta puppies hatched on the beaches of Ortaca and Fethiye in Muğla are meeting the sea.

Caretta carettas are among creatures facing the risk of extinction in the world. Hatching babies after spawning period in May and June have set off towards the sea. Nature lovers at research, rescue, rehabilitation and Information Centre (DEKAMER) help those puppies who have not been successful to make it to sea.

The nests, which are protected within the scope of the project carried out by the General Directorate of Conservation of Natural Assets of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanism and Climate Change, are controlled by DEKAMER officers. The puppies, who cannot reach the sea, are left in the sea with the setting of the sun after being kept in the center for a day.
