A 150 percent increase in a year:  Another hike in bread prices in Istanbul

It was reported that there would be another hike in bread sold for 4.5 pounds in many districts in Istanbul. ITO Bread Flour and Bakery Products Professional Committee Chairman said “from tomorrow bakers in Kadıköy, Üsküdar and Ataşehir will sell the bread for 5 TL.”

The price of bread sold in Istanbul from 2 liras last summer is rising to 5 TL this year. It has been learned that 240 grams of bread sold for 4.5 TL in many districts will be sold for 5 TL starting tomorrow. Thus, there has been a 150 percent increase in bread in the last year.

According to reports but from tomorrow bakeries in Kadıköy, Üsküdar and Ataşehir will sell the bread for 5 TL.”
