A big hike in booze prices starting from 40 percent!

After cigarettes, the excise duty hike on drinks were announced, too. The first list shared for high-alcohol beverages, included a hike in rates starting from 40 percent.

After the big excise duty hike for cigarettes with the new year, drinks also got a raise. President of the Turkish Monopoly Dealers Platform shared one of the new lists and stated that the hikes were over 40 percent.

Taking into account the inflation data for 6 months at the beginning of January 2022, excise duty on cigarette prices was raised. The hike was reflected on the shelves as of January 4. The increases in cigarettes ranging from 3 to 5 TL per pack were reflected to the consumer.

And today it was reported that the drinks started to get a raise, as well. The President of the Turkish Monopoly Dealers Platform, shared the increased list that a company had updated on Twitter. According to the list, hikes of 40-45 percent were made to high-alcohol beverages.
